When there is plenty of wine, sorrow and worry take wing.
I know some of you were disappointed we sold out of the Chapelle St. Arnoux Vacqueyras in half a day. We will be getting more in on March 8. (Please make sure to pre order as we will probably sell out of the wines before we get them in.)
Since those wines did not make it through the
weekend. We have
set up a phenomenal tasting with the Chateau De
Montfaucon Vineyard 2007 Rhone Wines. We will be
holding the tasting . . .
Today Saturday February 20,
2010
1-
5 pm with Winebow Importers.
Most of you have bought the Chateau De Montfaucon Les Gardettes 2007 wine (We cant keep it in stock) and many of you have had the Chateau De Montfaucon Cotes Du Rhone 2007 but none of you have tried the special Chateau De Montfaucon Vin de Monsieur Le Baron de Montfaucon. This wine was rated 92 points by Robert Parker but the best and special part of this wine is that it has 15 different grape varietals . . . yes 15 different grape varietals (Red grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Counoise, Mourvedre, Muscat, Aubun, Alicante, Tempranille. White grape varieties: Viognier, Marsanne, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul) and they only make 500 cases of this wine and we were lucky enough to get some. So come on in and try these great wines from the Chateau De Montfaucon Estates the great and historic 2007 Rhone Valley Vintage.
Dont Miss Out! Tasting will be held Today,

CHATEAU DE MONTFAUCON COTES DU
RHONE 2007
Cotes Du Rhone 2007
The Cotes du Rhone is a classic of Montfaucon. The
focus is to express with finesse and elegance the
intense fruit characteristics that Cotes du Rhone
terroir can offer. 50 % Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 15%
Syrah, 10%
Carignan, 10% Counoise. Wine from old vines (over
40 years) with selection of parcels that have a
maximum yield of 38 hl/ha.
Winery Notes: "Behind the purple colour
opens a nose with
intense notes of red fruits, cherries, blueberries and
blackberries followed ny notes of chocolate and
pepper. The wine is full, elegant and round.
Yet rich it is not heavy. If you keep some bottles in
your cellar, you will be surprised by the aging potential
of the wine; it developpes aromas and finesse
that are amazingly similar to some Burgundy wines."

CHATEAU DE MONTFAUCON "VIN DE
MONSIEUR LE BARON DE MONTFAUCON" VIN DE
PAYS DU GARD 2007
Everyone from Robert Parker to Wine
Spectator are
raving about this wine.
Because of it's limited production, there is very little to
go around. At this price, it's an excellent buy for Rhone
collectors or all of you looking to get in on some of the
red hot 2007 Rhones!
This old magnificent label from the
1820s is great, great, grand father, Baron
Eugene de Montfaucon, with all the history that
was behind Montfaucon wines. In order to make a
wine in the spirit of those days nearly 200 years ago,
they fermented together all the grapes we have on the
estate, 15 in total. The wine is racked straight into
barrels after fermentation, as they did in the old days.
This wine, unique in its style, is all in finesse, fruit,
flower and elegance. It is in its own world, out of this
time. It will seduce wine lovers,
connoisseurs and collectors. Just take a look at the
15 grape varietals in the wine:
Red grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault,
Carignan, Counoise, Mourvedre, Muscat, Aubun,
Alicante, Tempranille.
White grape varieties: Viognier, Marsanne,
Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 92
points: "The 2007 Vin de Pays
Le Baron de Montfaucon is a 500-case cuvee made
from an unusual combination of 15 different grapes
that are all co-fermented together. Aged in 100% old
barrels, this outstanding wine's dense ruby/purple
color is followed by exotic notes of honeysuckle,
marmalade, red currants, black currants, blackberries,
licorice, loamy soil, and tobacco leaf. Singular in style
and seriously endowed, it can be drunk now or
cellared for 5-7 years."
