This rich, spicy 18 year old from Aberlour was only released for general consumption in 2008; prior to this it had only been produced for the French market. Nose: Creamy, like melted vanilla ice-cream. Fruity and honeyed. Palate: Fresh juicy apples and oranges before sherry kicks in with supple sultanas and vanilla. Finish: Intricate with chocolate raisins and oily caramel notes.

While most rye whiskeys are made with corn as an ingredient, this is a unique rye whiskey made only with rye and malted barley. This spicy and full-bodied 100 proof Straight Rye Whiskey pays tribute to the classic American whiskey style and the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897. On the nose, this whiskey is full of dried fruit, black pepper and a touch of fresh dill. A small sip brings an array of flavors both sweet and savory with a terrific balance of dark spices and subtle caramel overtones. The finish is especially pleasing with an oaky dryness that lingers just long enough.
The Fourth Edition of Flaming Heart is a big, smoky malt whisky with rich, concentrated vanilla and spice character that combines Highland single malt whiskies aged on the highest quality, new French oak, with a heavy-peated Islay single malt. And for the first time a small portion of whiskies aged in sherry casks, providing added layers of richness and complexity.

A boisterous 12 year old Bas Armagnac blended and bottled by the incomparable Darroze as part of their Grands Assemblages range. Hints of liquorice and cinnamon here, this really blossoms after a minute or two breathing in the glass.
