Jefferson's Presidential Select 1991 18 Year Old uses the same Stitzel-Weller Barrels as the Pappy Van Winkle Bourbons.
The nose is of big vanillas with full character, citrus, apple, subtle caramel and assorted nuts. The body is huge. English toffee, cinnamon, leather. Balanced and sultry. The finish is long and rounded. It is a "wheated" bourbon, meaning that wheat is used as a second grain (not rye), resulting in smooth flavors and graceful aging. All of the Van Winkle bourbons are made with corn, wheat, and, barley instead of corn, rye and, barley. And of course this is no different.
