This wine is from Portugal, Port region. Descended from the fiery ruby Porto wines originally shipped by George Sandeman in 1790, Sandeman Ruby Porto is still made traditionally, to be rich and robust, yet with a special depth of flavour and the finesse, achieved by expertly blending wines from Sandemans large and varied stock.. Brilliant red ruby in colour, with clean aromas of red fruits, plums and strawberries, Sandeman Ruby Porto has full rich flavours and is very well balanced. Rich, round, balanced in the mouth, with overt flavours of fresh plums and red fruits.

These are the youngest of all the Dow’s wood-aged Ports, having been aged on average 3 years in oak casks. These wines are carefully made from the finest grapes in the Douro valley. During the ageing process, the wines are tasted regularly and, when they are considered to be ready, they are blended with all the care of a premium quality Port, but are bottled when ready for immediate consumption. The result is a range of Ports with the fine balance and flavour, worthy of the Dow’s name.

Dow’s LBV is full-bodied, rich but perfectly balanced with soft peppery tannins and with a fine acidity that ensure perfect balance on the palate. The classic Dow’s dry finish is always present in the house’s LBV; it is one of the finest LBV Ports available.

Some of the grapes come from the Quinta do Noval vineyard, the rest from A-rated vineyards at the heart of the Douro valley. A part of the grapes is trodden by foot in "lagares," traditional stone vats from the Quinta. Another is crushed mechanically in steel vats. It is matured for 2 years in oak casks and steel vats to preserve the wine’s freshness.

Six Grapes closely resembles Graham's Vintage Port style: full-bodied, with rich opulent black fruit on the palate and fragrant brambly aromas. We think of it as the "everyday Port for the Vintage Port drinker." Six Grapes is bottled relatively young (between 3 and 4 years) in order to retain the freshness and vigour comparable to a young Vintage Port.

Wine & Spirits 95 points: Passagem 2007 wine is a full bodied, seductive wine with great balance and freshness often hard to achieve in wines from the hotter Douro Superior. Like all of Jorge's Wines, it has good equilibrium and definition. Very aromatic with black fruit flavours, rounded tannins and good complexity, the wine lingers on the palate. Undoubtedly the best wine we have made from this new project, it is showing very well now and has a good potential for ageing.

Madeira is made on the sub-tropical island of the same name situated in the Atlantic Ocean, some 400 miles off North Africa. Blandy’s, established in 1811, is the leading producer of premium quality Madeira and is still owned and managed by direct descendents of the founder, John Blandy.

This medium dry Verdelho Madeira has been aged in oak casks for five years, softening its robust character and resulting in a wine of great versatility. Try paired with rich desserts or served slightly chilled on its own.

With an intense amber tawny color, the wine has sweet, elegant apricot flavors, delicate wood notes and rich, seductive aromas of mature fruit. Full-bodied and highly concentrated.

Amber, golden tawny. Excellent bouquet with a characteristic "nutty" character and delicious mature fruit with hints of orange peel, exquisitely mellowed by careful ageing. Rich, softly sweet and smooth. Perfectly balanced, with a long and elegant finish. Pairs extremely well with nuts, dried fruits and fruitcake but also with vanilla ice cream or crème brulee.

For many the perfect age for a great Tawny Port. The vibrant purple colour of a great young Port has softened to a delicate green-gold after 20 long years in seasoned oak casks under the watchful eye of the master blender and the Dow’s head lodge man. On the palate, Dow’s Twenty Years Old Tawny is perfectly balanced, with notes of dried nuts and spice. One of the greatest wines a Port blender can make.

"Violets, roses, spices, and candied dark fruits emanate from the glass of the murky black/purple colored 2003 Graham Vintage Port. After four days of air, this wine’s aromatics sweetened further, displaying jammy blackberry and blueberry scents. Bold, full-bodied, and expansive, the Graham benefited the most from extensive contact with air of all the 2003s tasted for this report. This opulently jammy wine assaults the palate with powerful yet soft layers of oily, candied red fruits as well as notes of tar and hints of mocha. A highly concentrated effort, it is creamy textured, suave, and reveals an admirably long finish filled with additional layers of dark fruits intermingled with spices." Wine Advocate (95 Points)

"The firmly-structured, moderately tannic, impressively colored and concentrated 1991 Vintage Port is less precocious and more reserved than the 1992 Quinta do Bomfim Vintage Port. It may develop along the lines of the stern but powerful 1977. The wine offers a classic display of black fruits, licorice, and chocolate aromas and flavors, as well as a full-bodied, muscular style with considerable tannin and firmness. "The 2009 Fonseca shows consistent notes to its release. It was a small production of 6,300 cases compared to the average of 11,000. It has a quintessential, primal Fonseca bouquet with voluptuous sloes, blackcurrants, kirsch and sweet fig all suffused with glycerin. The palate is succulent on the entry, but the copious nascent black fruit belies the structure underneath. (Indeed, this vintage has the highest anthocyanin count.)
