Agrapart was founded in 1894 in the Grand Cru village of Avize. Agrapart's rose is based on the Cuvee Terroirs (am Extra Brut Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs), with the addition of still Pinot Noir from the village of Cumieres purchased from René Geoffroy. Expect a younger-styled rose that leans toward elegance, light body, verve and structure and on the dry side as Agrapart imparts a light dosage.

This multi-vintage wine is composed from the harvests of 2009 and 2008 aged in oak barrels and blended from seven villages in the Cote de Blancs and Vallee de le Marne. The base wines undergo malelactic fermentation and age on the lees for 3 years and are stirred manually. The dosage is limited to a light 7g of sugar.

"Pale gold with a strong bead. Lively lemon, quince and honeysuckle on the nose, with a nervy underpinning of minerals. A brisk and finely etched blanc de blancs, offering clean citrus and orchard fruit flavors along with subtle anise and floral qualities. "The 2002 Brut Millesime shows the exuberance and weight for which Bouzy is so well-known. Red berries, flowers and minerals are some of the nuances that are woven together in a rich, expansive fabric of notable class. This really needs some time in the glass to shine, but when the wine opens up it is absolutely glorious. A round, creamy finish has the last word. Its beautiful color is achieved through assemblage, the process by which sparkling white wine is blended with a proportion of still Pinot Noir wine. Our Pinot Noir is picked from old -growth vines grown specifically for use in Rosé Champagne. Our Rosé is announced with a rich bouquet of red fruits with delicate, smoky grilled notes behind. It is fresh and full-bodied on the palate with aromas of strawberries and blackcurrant, and is lingering and complex in its finish. Armand de Brignac Rosé is produced in extremely limited quantities.

"85% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Noir Pale orange color. An intensely perfumed nose displays spicy redcurrant and strawberry, along with an exotic blood orange quality. Zesty red fruit flavors are sharply focused and pure, with chalky minerality adding lift. Maintains energy through the long, spicy finish, which leaves a trace of bitter orange pith behind. This newly established house is co-owned by all three winemaking branches of Bordeaux' Rothschild family, whose holdings include Chateaux Mouton-Rothschild, Lafite-Rothchild and Clarke, among others. The wines are made at the highly regarded Vertus co-op from grapes grown mostly in the Cotes de Blancs. This new cuvee is all vinified in oak but hasn't a hint of obvious oak on the nose. Lovely quality of fizz. Brooding and intense. There is marked density here and excellent balance and persistence. As usual, we are not told on the back label how old this blend may be, just that it is 'respectfully composed' of the three Champagne varieties. But it's impressive wine and I suspect it will not be cheap. Recommended.

This cuvee contains 40% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay. All wines from the best sites in the department of the Marne, from more than twenty top vineyards in Champagne. The overall composition of this cuvée has not changed much for almost fifty years. Fine bubbles which rise slowly, persistent mousse. Straw-colored. A nose of ripe pear with some touches of cut hay. Full fruit, but clean in the mouth.

Attractive lemon-gold, with a fairly coarse bead. The nose is initially mineral and white citrus fruit, but it quickly develops bready, leesy, yeasty notes. The palate has a sharp mousse, fresh acidity, mineral notes, is also quite bready. Finishes with a creamy touch.

With fine, delicate bubbles, this Brut has generous, rich flavors of ripe apple, spice and butter, with an attractive doughy aroma. It is deep and complex with a smooth texture and a lingering finish.

The secret of sparkling wines is the blend, whether they are from Champagne or other regions of France. This is the winemaker’s art. The style of Charles de Fère is to voluntarily refuse territorial limits, building close partnership relations with growers so that we can select cuvées from northerly vineyards for their freshness and elegance, together with cuvées from southern vineyards for ripe fruit, body and smoothness. This bold approach adds finesse, structure, and a complex harmony of flavors that makes Charles de Fère what it is today.
