Established since 1968, Roquebrun's wine cellars are situated in the Haut Languedoc National Park, 30km north of Béziers and between the two regional capitals of Montpellier and Toulouse. The vineyards are spread over an area of 500 hectares of south facing, schistose hillsides. The Terrasses du Frigoulet is made from vineyards with argilo limestone and pebbles, and is made from hand harvested, de-stemmed fruit. The final blend for the 2011 was comprised of 35% Carignan, 30% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 15% Mourvedre from 100% estate bottled fruit. Serve this well-made 'country' red with roasted chicken, grilled sausages, soups and stews, or with an afternoon lunch of fine cheeses, chicken truffle pâté and green salad with olives and tomatoes.

"A big red, powerful and concentrated, with mulberry, dark plum, blackberry and baked cherry flavors which feature notes of bacon fat and smoke. Dark chocolate pervades the muscular finish. Drink now through 2018. Tasted twice, with consistent notes."
