NV Adami - Bosco di Gica Prosecco Brut $26.99

The 2009 Il Bruciato is a gorgeous entry-level red from Antinori’s Bolgheri property. Black cherries, espresso, grilled herbs, crushed rocks and spices are some of the notes that emerge from this generous, expressive wine. Il Bruciato is Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. A clean, saline finish makes it impossible to resist a second taste. This shows tons of regional character, not to mention terrific personality.

2006 Casanova di Neri - Rosso di Casanova di Neri
2006 Casanova di Neri - Rosso di Casanova di Neri $34.99

Red | Sangiovese Grosso | Italy | Tuscany | 750ml

"Casanova di Neri's 2006 Rosso di Casanova di Neri is a cask-aged blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Colorino grown in the Sant-Antimo appellation which lies just beyond the southern border of the Brunello zone. The Sangiovese is aged in 48 and 72 hectoliter casks while the Colorino is aged in smaller 6 hectoliter barrels. The wine is sweet and expansive on the palate, where it offers compelling notes of dark cherries, smoke and tar with outstanding depth and terrific overall balance. Drink this beautifully-balanced, pleasing Rosso over the next few years. It is a great introduction to the house style at a price that won-t break the bank. 2006 is the first vintage in which this wine carries that Sant-Antimo designation rather than the Rosso di Montalcino designation of previous vintages. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2011." Wine Advocate (90)

The Poggio Bestiale vineyard covers approximately 20 hectares of land in the town of Magliano in the production area of Maremma. Its proximity to the Tyrrhenian coast allows the vines to benefit from the Meditteranean climate. Intense, bold aromas of cherry and raspberry abound. Full-bodied and persistent with smoky, spicy, and earthy flavors. Ripe, sweet tannins and ample acidity finish off this wine.

"The 2008 Poggio Bestiale flows from the glass with layers of succulent red cherries, menthol, licorice and sweet spices. An authoritative finish rounds out this polished, super-ripe wine. This is an excellent showing from Fattoria di Magliano. Poggio Bestiale is 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. The wine spent 16 months in French oak barrels." Attractive cherry, plum and tobacco aromas and flavors get support from dense tannins in this pretty yet well-toned red, which still needs time for the tannins to soften, but shows harmony and a lingering aftertaste of spice and mineral. Best from 2013 through 2024. 100 cases imported.

2005 Paitin - Barbaresco Sorì Paitin
2005 Paitin - Barbaresco Sorì Paitin $57.99 $42.95

Red | Nebbiolo | Italy | 750ml

"The 2005 Barbaresco Sori Paitin is a gorgeous wine redolent of flowers, ripe red fruit and subtle French oak nuances. This Barbaresco offers lovely overall balance, with well-integrated tannins and superb purity. Today the wine is bursting with primary fruit and needs at least a few years in bottle to develop its tertiary aromas and flavors. This is a terrific effort from Paitin. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2025." Wine Advocate (93 Points)

2005 Podere Poggio Scalette - Toscana Il Carbonaione
2005 Podere Poggio Scalette - Toscana Il Carbonaione $47.99

White | Proprietary Blend | Italy | 750ml

"The 2005 is a lithe, silky-textured Carbonaione, with perfumed aromatics and an attractive core of ripe red fruits. In 2005 the harvest season saw a full week of rain, which can be felt in the wine’s smaller scale. Today it comes across as lacking the stuffing of the finest vintages, but this is a wine that ages well, especially in cooler years, and I am confident that will be the case here as well. For now, the wine requires at least another year or two in bottle to absorb the toasted oak that is prominent at this stage. Interestingly, the 2005 shows more overt oak aromas and flavors than the 2006, which was taken directly from barrel, no doubt owing to the quality of the fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020" Wine Advocate (91 Points)

2003 Poggio San Polo - Brunello Di Montalcino
2003 Poggio San Polo - Brunello Di Montalcino $99.99 $46.95

Red | Sangiovese Grosso | Italy | Tuscany | 750ml

"The 2003 Brunello di Montalcino is a sleek, stylish effort very much in the style of consulting oenologist Carlo Ferrini. This mid-weight Brunello opens to reveal vibrant dark cherries, spices, menthol and licorice with a nice inner sweetness and freshness to its core. The tannins are firm, yet well-integrated into the wine’s fabric[...] Anticipated maturity: 2009-2018." Wine Advocate (90 Points)

2005 Poggio San Polo - Brunello Di Montalcino
2005 Poggio San Polo - Brunello Di Montalcino $84.99 $49.95

Red | Sangiovese Grosso | Italy | Tuscany | 750ml

"The 2005 Brunello di Montalcino is a warm, supple wine endowed with gorgeous, expressive dark red berries, licorice, tar and subtle French oak, all of which come together on a soft, mid-weight frame. The finish is long and caressing. This is one of the more open, approachable Brunellos in this vintage and it should be accessible upon release, after which it will drink well for another decade or so. This is a very strong effort for a property in transition. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020." Wine Advocate (92 Points)

2009 Querciabella - Chianti Classico
2009 Querciabella - Chianti Classico $44.99

Red | Sangiovese | Italy | 750ml

The 2009 Chianti Classico Querciabella floats on the palate with layers of sensual red fruit, flowers and spices. It remains an essentially mid-weight wine graced with exquisite finesse and class, reflecting a stylistic change from some of the bigger vintages of the past. Floral notes reappear on the finish, adding lift and harmony. Anticipated maturity 2012-2019.
Robert Parker Wine Advocate 90 Points

On the palate it is consistent with the olfaction. Sensations of fragrant fresh fruit are accompanied by steady yet gentle tannins that exalt enjoyable spicy hints. The entire tasting sensation is enriched by a persistent finish, which is incredibly fresh and pleasantly mineral and presents lingering notes of rosemary.
