"Moreau’s 2011 Chablis is showing some tightness because of its recent bottling, two weeks before this tasting, but it appears to have more freshness and verve than the 2010. Citrus and white floral notes give the 2011 much of its vibrancy and focus." Wine Advocate (88 Points)
"A mix of apple, honey, herb and earth notes highlights this rich white. Balanced, finishing with a touch of smoke." Wine Spectator (88 Points)

900 Cases Produced This is the second vintage in which 20% of Failla's young-vine Chardonnay blend was fermented and aged in concrete egg vessels. The remainder fermented and aged for 10 months in French oak, only 15% new and barely perceptible in the finished wine's flinty nose balanced with citrusy scents of grapefruit and lime filled out with a hint of jasmine and oyster-shell. The textural contributions of the concrete-fermented lots nicely balance the wine's vibrant mouth-watering acidity. This is firm in acidity, bracing in minerals and bone dry. That makes it sound austere, but you'll find delicious apricot, lime and citron flavors, enhanced by sweet oak.Wine Enthusiast 92 Points
Chardonnay, with juicy tropical fruit flavors, a hint of creaminess, and a long, bright finish.
The 2011 Chardonnay highlights some of the best vineyards in Monterey and Santa Lucia Highlands. This high coastal region greets the day with morning sun giving way to afternoon breezes, the perfect setting for this Burgundian varietal. In the glass it gives a light golden hue with lemon peel, and pear on the nose. Once tasted it reveals layers of subtle peach and pineapple with a touch of vanilla toast.
The 2011 Hartford Court Russian River Valley Chardonnay offers subtle aromas of jasmine flower and Crenshaw melon complemented by fresh kiwi, pineapple, white peach and Pippin apple flavors. The supple and complex, fruit focused mid-palate is followed by subtle mineral notes and a hint of cinnamon in the finish.
Rich and round with ripe pear, peach, apple, flint and crushed rocks are some of the many notes that flow from this gracious, beautifully crafted well balanced white Burgundy. Just an incredible value.
Our 2011 One Sixteen Chardonnay is sourced from six incredible vineyard sites in the Russian River Valley. Named after the Gravenstein Highway 116 which cuts through the town of Sebastopol, this wine embodies the true character of the Green Valley sub-appellation; a Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sweet spot within the Russian River Valley. The 2011 vintage is comprised of El Diablo, Heintz, Searby, Ulises Valdez and Martinelli’s Charles Ranch and Zio Tony Vineyards. These sites all have superb micro-climates, offering just the right amount of warmth during the day and very cool nights, which leads to intensely focused wine with generous natural acidity.
This unoaked wine captures the pure, clean expression of Chardonnay from our Mer Soleil Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands of Monterey County. The mineral essence is reminiscent of the classic Chablis style with the tropical elements found in the Chardonnays of the Pacific Coastline. Grapes are fermented in cement tanks, without oak contact.
The Neyers Carneros District Chardonnay comes from fruit grown on three parcels. Two of the parcels are planted largely to 'Shot-Wente Selection' Chardonnay, a low-yielding, small berry variant of Chardonnay that has heightened flavor and increased complexity.

Rich yellow color and becoming more golden with age. Inviting fruit aromas of honeydew, yellow peach and fig are supported by vanilla and caramel. Creamy vanilla integrates with honeysuckle, pineapple and apricot for a fabulous richness on the palate. A luscious mouthfeel leads to a generous and creamy finish. Pleasantly voluptuous from a cooler vintage. Our favorite Joy of Cooking® pairing for this wine includes salmon fettuccine with peas, burrata cheese with arugula salad, roasted turkey, and fried green tomatoes.
