The Nine Hats Red 2007 includes the classic five grapes of a true Bordeaux?blend. Cabernet Sauvignon is the dominant grape at 54%, softened with 24%?Merlot, 10% each Cab Franc and Petit Verdot, and 2% Malbec. Longshadows'?higher end wines draw from the very best vineyards in Washington, and the?Nine Hats wines are made with the same fruit.?Ripe and rich with a vibrant core of dark fruit complimented by nuances of cedar and exotic spices. This is a well structured wine, balanced by a long and silky finish. The fruit for this blend is sourced from a selection of the Columbia Valley's most highly regarded vineyards: Weinbau, Dionysus, Wallula (The Benches), Champoux, and Stone Tree; aged 20 months in French Oak barrels before bottling.
