Red | Pinot Noir | United States | Oregon | 750ml
This elegant Oregon wine displays complex flavors of red fruits, leading harmoniously towards savory mineral aromatics. It finishes its complex dance with darker fruits which unify to provide a beautiful balance of richness and power.
White | Sauvignon Blanc | New Zealand | Marlborough | 750ml
The aromatics in this 2011 Sauvignon are distinctly tropical. Indulging the nose the initial sweet passion fruit then gives way to hints of lime, classic gooseberry, and dried herbs. But it is the palate where this wine embodies all that is Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The entry onto the palate is smooth and fruit driven, which accelerates through to a midpalate burst of energy from the firm lively acidity with a lingering mouth-watering finish.

Lively like the look in your eyes, sweet like a kiss.Very fine gold color with a green sheen. Its nose has a flowery fruity bouquet. Being pure and honest it is seducer from the outset. Flowers flit around, trees bend down to give their most beautiful fruits to us and the air we breathe is so sweet in this garden full of sweetness that it is intoxicating. Lively, supple and welcoming taste. Predominantly honest in a welcoming balance, it reflects a pretty grape, a fine harvest in the singing and laughter of the men and women pickers. It tells us of work well done in the divine order and Nature's kindness. It is fair, and all one expected and to cap it all there is happiness there.

Rustic in the best sense, this has the deep, resinous herb scent that's made Mendocino famous. The tannins lend grit to the palate, along with layers of flavor that fill the mouth completely even as the wine coasts along. For years, evangelists asked us to create a non chill-filtered, cask strength edition of our acclaimed Auchentoshan classic. Valinch was born. The Valinch being the name of the pipette used to draw whisky straight from the cask. An appropriate name for a whisky with all the depth of taste, flavour and texture associated with sampling whisky at source. An unadulterated small batch release.

The 2011 Clark & Telephone is a Cab's lovers Pinot if ever there was one. Established in 1972, the Clark & Telephone Vineyard was planted "own root" to the Martini clone. This heirloom clone of Pinot Noir was one of the first to grace the California coastlands and has become something of a lost treasure. The site offers pronounced flavors that are augmented by the Martini clone, known for its characteristic brown spice (cinnamon, nutmeg and clove) and deep cranberry and raspberry flavors. Throughout the experience a plush weight fills the mouth. The merging of flavors, viscosity and a lively acidity round out the long, sinuous finish.

The 2011 Urban Uco is a blend of 50% Tempranillo and 50% Malbec that spent 3 months in oak. Deep purple in color, with an inviting bouquet of smoke, blackberry, and blueberry, on the palate it is loaded with flavor, depth, and length. This stunning overachiever may be the finest value in my Argentina tastings. Buy it by the case.

“The grapes from this vineyard are used in the 2011 Tineta (100% Tinto Fino). It reveals a deep ruby/purple color as well as copious notes of creme de cassis intermixed with hints of wood smoke and charcoal. The 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition is a blend of 75% Grenache and the rest mostly Syrah and Mourvedre with small amounts of Counoise, Vaccarese and Cinsault, all aged in foudres. It possesses a wonderful earthy/garrigue character in addition to abundant kirsch, lavender and black raspberry fruit. This full-bodied 2011 should drink beautifully for a decade. Composed of 85% Grenache and the rest equal parts Syrah and Mourvedre, the 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape Chante Le Merle Vieilles Vignes emanates from four separate old vine parcels located in Pignan, Mont Redon, Les Grands Galiguieres and La Gardine. A candidate for the wine of the vintage, the 2011 exhibits a shockingly rich dense purple color as well as sensational notes of blackberries, licorice, cassis, nori (the seafood wrapper used in sushi restaurants), pepper and roasted meats. It is a full-throttle, massive Chateauneuf du Pape with silky tannins, decent acidity and a long finish. This is a killer wine! It should age effortlessly for 10-15 years. Wine Advocate 92-94 Points
White | Muscatel | Spain | Malaga | 750ml
Organically farmed 70-year-old Moscatel de Alejandria vines producing tiny yields. Thirty percent of the wine was barrel-fermented in neutral French oak, the rest in stainless steel. Pale straw color. Very Fresh, fragrant and mature, brimming with the aroma of Muscat grape, apple, mandarin orange and a pinch of wilted flowers. Very expressive. On the palate it is fruity and dry, with notes of citrus and a gentle finish. The finish is long, round and balanced. The fruit stays with you for a very long time. This is the ultimate fresh seafood or sushi wine.

Red | Cotes du Rhone | France | Rhone Valley | 750ml
Aromas of a briar patch on a hot summer day carry over to the palate and are carried in a mouth-filling, flavorful, juicy package. The wine was crafted for immediate enjoyment but for those who enjoy a more complex wine displaying some bottle-aged character, ageing until 2015 is a good option.

White | Chardonnay | United States | Anderson Valley, California | 750ml
This 2011 Central Coast Chardonnay has a lot of personality; a rich bouquet of peach pie and kumquats, a full mouthful of flavor with ripe stone fruit, bright Bartlett pear and crème fraîche. The texture is soft, round, smooth and succulent with hints of sweet oak, and a nice, long, beckoning finish.
Wine Advocate 90 Points: Calera's 2011 Chardonnay Central Coast is super-impressive, especially for the money. A textured, inviting wine, the 2011 boasts gorgeous depth and tons of finesse. Deeply expressive varietal notes wrap around the creamy finish.
Winery Notes: Plum, pomegranate, pink rose petal, boysenberry and the slightest hint of watermelon candy dance from this 2011 Central Coast Pinot Noir. It's full of boysenberry and spicy cherries jubilee character with nice brightness and delightful flavors of black raspberry and sweet oak. A bit of tartness accents the soft, flowing texture and lively finish.
Wine Advocate 90 Points: Calera's 2011 Pinot Noir Central Coast wafts from the glass with freshly cut flowers, sweet red berries and mint. This is a fairly laid-back vintage for the wine, with less of the pure breed of the 2009 and 2010, but frankly that may be an unfair comparison as those wines were superb over achievers. The 2011 is more an inline performer. The tense, saline finish laced with pretty floral and spiced notes is lovely. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018.
This Pinot Noir was sourced primarily from our Panorama estate vineyard (75%), balanced with select lots from the Clark vineyard (10%) and Mission Peak vineyard (5%). These vineyards have been certified sustainable by the SIP organization (Sustainability In Practice) since 2008. After fermentation was complete, the wine was aged 9 months primarily in 96% French oak (16% new) for 9 months.
Red | Proprietary Red | Chile | Rapel Valley | 750ml
This is a new wine from Lapostolle, bearing a nose that's intense and compact. Carmenere, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah make up the blend. Brilliant, inky reddish-purple. Black and red fruit along with hints of spices. Juicy and round palate with a velvety texture.
White | Viognier | United States | California | 750ml
The 2011 season was exceptionally cool, bringing about purer, crisper aromatics in our white wines then perhaps we have ever seen. A brighter version of Viognier than is typically produced at Cass, it showcases hi-toned aromas of lime zest, kumquat, lemongrass, and ruby red grapefruit. Although it displays some restraint at first, it soon opens up to notes of honeydew melon, white rose, and fresh herbs. The palate is light on it feet, with lean, zippy acid holding together a core of flavors that span honey mandarin, lemon curd, and green apple. The finish stays tight and clean, with a kiss of agave nectar and wet stone.

Red | Coteaux du Languedoc | France | 750ml
Established since 1968, Roquebrun's wine cellars are situated in the Haut Languedoc National Park, 30km north of Béziers and between the two regional capitals of Montpellier and Toulouse. The vineyards are spread over an area of 500 hectares of south facing, schistose hillsides. The Terrasses du Frigoulet is made from vineyards with argilo limestone and pebbles, and is made from hand harvested, de-stemmed fruit. The final blend for the 2011 was comprised of 35% Carignan, 30% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 15% Mourvedre from 100% estate bottled fruit. Serve this well-made 'country' red with roasted chicken, grilled sausages, soups and stews, or with an afternoon lunch of fine cheeses, chicken truffle pâté and green salad with olives and tomatoes.
"A big red, powerful and concentrated, with mulberry, dark plum, blackberry and baked cherry flavors which feature notes of bacon fat and smoke. Dark chocolate pervades the muscular finish. Drink now through 2018. Tasted twice, with consistent notes."
