Named for roasted halzelnuts, "Les Noisetiers" is the most appelation-expressive Chardonnay from Kistler Vineyards. The grapes are whole-cluster pressed into 30% new French oak for fermentation via indigenous yeast. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered after 10 months in barrel. From the winery: "Deep green-yellow. A pronounced and refined sense of minerality pierces through the initial first blush of stone fruit on the nose. Wet stone, powdered sea sand, and a slight sense of roasted grain. Perfectly balanced, the core is packed with grilled citrus, a touch of lemongrass and threaded with a vibrant acidity that reverberates across the palate. Possesses a lively, yet elegant finish that just doesn’t want to end.

Produced since 1986. Just shy of 1800 feet in elevation, in a small bowl on the western edge of the Mayacama mountains lies the original Kistler planting. Thirty year old vines grow dry farmed in deep red volcanic ash, producing a wine with an intense sense of the mountain heritage of the delicate stone fruit that is lifted, like its McCrea cousin, yet firmer, and with a stronger core and added layers of richness.

Our 2011 One Sixteen Chardonnay is sourced from six incredible vineyard sites in the Russian River Valley. Named after the Gravenstein Highway 116 which cuts through the town of Sebastopol, this wine embodies the true character of the Green Valley sub-appellation; a Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sweet spot within the Russian River Valley. The 2011 vintage is comprised of El Diablo, Heintz, Searby, Ulises Valdez and Martinelli’s Charles Ranch and Zio Tony Vineyards. These sites all have superb micro-climates, offering just the right amount of warmth during the day and very cool nights, which leads to intensely focused wine with generous natural acidity.

A really good value in a California Chardonnay. Blended with a touch of Viognier to add brightness, and fermented in a little new oak, it hits just the right notes for today's popular taste. A powerful white, this exhibits nut, lemon cream and mineral flavors, shaded by spice. Intense and concentrated, with a tangy finish and a long aftertaste of butterscotch and mineral.

Sparkling gold yellow in colour with a delicate nose of white flowers, toasted almonds and brioche. Nice length in the mouth, this wine is fat, round and with subtle hints of coconut. A balanced and harmonious wine, it will reach it's best in 2-3 years time. A fantastic Grand Ardèche!

A blend of two-thirds barrel fermented and barrel aged with some aged in stainless steel tanks with wooden staves and the rest totally in stainless steel, all of which was put through malolactic fermentation. The idea of blending steel fermented juice with barrel fermented wines seems to have produced a freshness and vibrancy. Bright with notes of orange blossoms, spring flowers, honeysuckle and white peaches, this floral-styled, medium to full-bodied effort will please those looking for Chardonnays with less than 14% alcohol (this offering has 13.8%).
