Deep red-ruby. Dark berries, black cherry, licorice, espresso and bitter chocolate on the youthfully reticent nose. Superconcentrated, dense and sweet, boasting a chewy, layered texture for young barbera and captivating flavors of crunchy dark berries, licorice and minerals. Bright acids leaven the wine's superb sweetness and extend the finish. The dolcetto is done entirely in stainless steel but this barbera was aged for ten months in second-use barriques.
