Final 2000 blend was completed May 2002. Rigorous selection was maintained. Approximately 25% of total production was kept out of the final blend to ensure the highest quality possible. 550 cases bottled after aging in French oak (75% new) for 22 months. The blend is very similar to our 1999 with the majority of the wine chosen, produced from Sacrashe Vineyard grapes. Release Date - February 2003

Red | Proprietary Blend | Sicily | 750ml

A blend of Nero d'Avola (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Merlot (20%), this bold wine from Silicy, Italy.  The fertility of calcareous soil and clay typical to this region, and the Mediterranean climate seem perfect for growing red wine grapes of high quality. It will accompany your roasts, stews, game and mushrooms. It is also excellent with cheese.

Riper and richer than the 2002 Cristal, this wine has a substantial structure to hold its sensuous, pearlike fruit in place. Tropical notes of guava contribute to the vinous impression, as does the foresty mushroom savor. Haute couture to drink now, this will develop deeper complexities with age.

Hints of toasted brioche and quince paste add rich layers of flavor to tangy green apple, white peach, smoke, vanilla and fresh ginger notes, finding beautiful harmony with the racy acidity and finely detailed texture. Drink now through 2020. 300 cases imported.
