"The 2002 Brut Millesime shows the exuberance and weight for which Bouzy is so well-known. Red berries, flowers and minerals are some of the nuances that are woven together in a rich, expansive fabric of notable class. This really needs some time in the glass to shine, but when the wine opens up it is absolutely glorious. A round, creamy finish has the last word. The 2002 is a bit more forward than most wines in this vintage which makes it approachable now, although I am not sure it is destined to make old bones." Wine Advocate (90 Points)

The 2002 Llicorella Seleccio raises the bar significantly. It is a blend of Garnacha Negra, Carinena, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah aged for 12-14 months in French and American oak. Dark ruby in color, it has a fragrant bouquet of pain grille, leather, mineral, meat, blue and black fruits which jumps from the glass. The wine has terrific grip, a racy style, and intense, sweet fruit. The finish is long and pure.

Sweet black currant, floral, blueberry, and cassis characteristics emerge from the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa. With medium body, and not the power and depth apparent in other Napa bottlings, it is a more elegant, restrained effort that will be ready to drink in 3-5 years. It should last for 15+ years.

The 2002 Brut Rose Extra Cuvee de Reserve is a gorgeous wine, even if it is a bit buttoned up at this stage. Layers of well-delineated aromatics emerge over time, melding seamlessly into a chiseled, precise core of fruit. This shows quite a bit of depth and richness, all while maintaining superb freshness and clarity. Though delicious today, I imagine this will be a highly rewarding bottle to follow over the next decade or so. This is an absolutely exquisite Champagne from Pol Roger. The Rose Extra Cuvee de Reserve is 35% Chardonnay and 65% Pinot Noir, of which 15% is still Pinot, with full malolactic fermentation. Lot number illegible. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020.?

74% cabernet sauvignon, 18% merlot and 8% petit verdot Deep, full ruby. Explosively perfumed nose combines black raspberry, violet and dark chocolate. Wonderfully layered and penetrating, with expressive flavors of raspberry, currant, bitter chocolate, spices and tobacco. Still an infant, but already offers a rare combination of sweetness and inner-mouth energy. Finishes very fresh and very long, with big, dusty tannins and great lift. This is high in alcohol for Ridge at 13.3%, but a full degree or more lower than virtually any other collectible California cabernet from this vintage.
