"The 2006 Alonso del Yerro went through malolactic fermentation in new French oak and was aged sur lie for 12 months with batonnage. Purple-colored, it has an enticing bouquet of wood smoke, pencil lead, violets, spice notes, and black cherry jam. Suave, sweet, and layered on the palate, it has loads of savory fruit, excellent concentration, and several years of aging potential. It will be at its best from 2013 to 2026. 2006 Axios - Cabernet Sauvignon
2006 Axios - Cabernet Sauvignon $159.99 $109.95

Red | Cabernet | United States | Napa Valley | 750ml

"The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon displays a dense purple color and some of the robust tannins of the vintage, in contrast to 2004, 2005, or the unreleased 2007. This is a big, full-bodied, powerful wine, muscular and masculine, but slightly more rustic than any of the other wines I tasted from Axios. This wine is certainly a successful effort for the vintage, and like the 2005, needs several years of bottle age to round into shape. It should evolve for 15 or more years." Wine Advocate (90 Points)

2006 Belle Pente - Pinot Noir Estate Reserve
2006 Belle Pente - Pinot Noir Estate Reserve $60.99 $44.95

Red | Pinot Noir | United States | Oregon | 750ml

Winery Notes: It was 10 years ago that we released our first Estate Reserve Pinot Noir. This bottling has always represented the "best of the best" from our Belle Pente estate vineyard, and over the years has also evolved into our purest expression of the best attributes of our Yamhill-Carlton District appellation. The wines from our neighborhood are characterized by dark fruit flavors and aromas, herbal/floral overtones, underlying minerality, an intriguing texture, and an impeccable balance of acid and tannin that makes the wines silky and sappy but also fresh and focused. Our Estate Reserve Pinot Noir provides a textbook example! 2006 has been described as a very "user friendly" vintage for Pinot Noir in Oregon. This Estate Reserve was selected for the International Pinot Noir Celebration this summer - so it can certainly be enjoyed now. But it is destined to provide the most pleasure when pulled from the cellar a half dozen (or more) years down the road. This 2006 version once again is sourced primarily from 2 sections of the vineyard: the original 1994 planting, always the most complex wine in the cellar, and the Wadensvil block planted in 1998 on a steep south-west hillside, the warmest part of the vineyard which always achieves the most even ripening. We then selected the 18 individual barrels that best showcased our appellation attributes and provide the "right stuff" for aging. The result is a tightly wound, rich, concentrated, structured young wine - perhaps our strongest Estate Reserve bottling to date. Make sure to find some room in your cellar! 450 cases produced

Notes of coffee and smoke accent plum, tar and orange peel flavors in this dense red, which is rather austere, but focused and balanced, with good depth. The texture is firm and polished. Drink now through 2020. 15,000 cases made.

The 2006 Cerro Anon Reserva is a blend of 80% Tempranillo, 5% Garnacha and 15% Mazuelo and Mazuelo that is aged for 20 months in American oak. Noticeably deep in color, the nose is very pure with notes of blackberry, violet, leather and a hint of lavender emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a citrus-fresh entry. It is very well-balanced with supple tannins and subtle leather and tobacco notes infusing the dark plum and summer berry fruit. This is a very well-crafted wine that stays true to exactly what Rioja ought to be. Excellent. Drink now-2018. Wine Advocate 92 Points

Deep ruby.  Pungent aromas of cherry-vanilla, mocha and floral oils, with a smoky topnote.  Lush and expansive, offering sweet red fruit flavors and a strong jolt of vanilla.  Finishes smooth and sweet, with very good energy and juicy persistence. Stephen Tanzer International Wine Cellar 90 Points

2006 Bodegas Resalte de Peñafiel - Peña Roble Crianza
2006 Bodegas Resalte de Peñafiel - Peña Roble Crianza $31.99 $22.95

Red | Tempranillo | Spain | Ribera Del Duero | 750ml

With its red cherry hue, the Resalte Peña Roble Crianza has a complex and elegant nose with hints of red fruit aromas, liquorice, toffee, spices and balsamic tones. The medium-bodied wine is smooth and balanced with a fine blend of sweet and wood-toasted tannins. The pleasant finish lingers with hints of red and black fruits, chocolate and balsamic in the aftertaste.

2006 Casanova di Neri - Rosso di Casanova di Neri
2006 Casanova di Neri - Rosso di Casanova di Neri $34.99

Red | Sangiovese Grosso | Italy | Tuscany | 750ml

"Casanova di Neri's 2006 Rosso di Casanova di Neri is a cask-aged blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Colorino grown in the Sant-Antimo appellation which lies just beyond the southern border of the Brunello zone. The Sangiovese is aged in 48 and 72 hectoliter casks while the Colorino is aged in smaller 6 hectoliter barrels. The wine is sweet and expansive on the palate, where it offers compelling notes of dark cherries, smoke and tar with outstanding depth and terrific overall balance. Drink this beautifully-balanced, pleasing Rosso over the next few years. It is a great introduction to the house style at a price that won-t break the bank. 2006 is the first vintage in which this wine carries that Sant-Antimo designation rather than the Rosso di Montalcino designation of previous vintages. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2011." Wine Advocate (90)

2006 Chartogne-Taillet - Brut Champagne
2006 Chartogne-Taillet - Brut Champagne $69.95 $59.95

Sparkling | Champagne | France | 750ml

"The 2006 Brut Millesime is a big and powerful. Apricots, honey, flowers and mint all wrap around the palate as this juicy, extroverted wine opens up in the glass. The 2006 is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, and it is the Pinot that is felt most in the wine’s breadth and pure richness. Although already quite complex, the 2006 should acquire even further tertiary complexity over the coming years. Today, it is showing beautifully." Wine Advocate (92 Points)

Wine Spectator 95 Points
The 2006 of Ducru-Beaucaillou exhibits the same analytical richness as its 2005 or 2003 counterpart. While on a par with those top quality vintages, it boast a special personality: endowed with a generous fruit and a superb freshness, presenting an elegant albeit solid structure. Very perfumed and beautiful, showing blackberry and raspberry aromas, with hints of vanilla. Deep and complex. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long, powerful finish. Excellent for the vintage. Best after 2015.

Varietal Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon 75%, 25% Merlot

"A very strong effort from Lagrange in 2006, this estate's tendency for including a nearly overwhelming oak component in its wines has been tamed in this cuvee, resulting in a better-balanced, potentially complex offering. A deep opaque purple color is followed by aromas of espresso roast, subtle pain grille, black currants, and cigar box. Full-bodied and surprisingly powerful for a 2006, with outstanding purity, texture, and depth, patience will be required for this beauty. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2027." Wine Advocate (91 Points)

There's a great dark color to this, with intense aromas of cedar, wood, new leather and crushed blackberry. Fullbodied, with loads of fruit and a firm, powerful palate. Long and mouthpuckering. A muscular baby.

The 2006 is extraordinarily elegant and finesse-styled, but it exhibits stunningly concentrated, sweet blackberry and cassis fruit with hints of flowers and minerals. Full-bodied with a savory, expansive mid-palate as well as sweet, noble tannins, this beauty will benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age, and should drink well for 20-25+ years.

"Bright ruby-red. Vibrant aromas of cassis, blueberry, cedar and graphite. Wonderfully pure and silky in the mouth, with great subtle, slow-building intensity and superb energy and thrust. A real essence of cabernet sauvignon and Mouton terroir This one really rattled my brain-in the gentlest way. As silky as it is, it possesses bottomless depths. Finishes with big but noble tannins and outstanding length. I loved this wine the spring after the harvest, and it's even more impressive today. This should go on for decades, but today it's hard to imagine this wine going through an extended sullen stage. By the way, I'm a great fan of Lucien Freud's work, but his label for this wine does not do justice to the juice inside the bottle." Stephen Tanzer (96 Points)
