Fermented in stainless steel and aged in Allier French oak, the 2008 Quinta de la Rosa has the structure of a Rioja and the spiciness of a Chateauneuf-du-Pape. There is plenty of ripeness here, but also a sense of restraint, which keeps the wine fresh and shows its potential for the future. Bold, cherry-infused red fruit evolve on the palate and artfully merges with the blackberry undertones and toasty earth and sweet tobacco notes.

2008 Quinta De La Rosa - DouRosa Tinto $13.95 $12.95

Red | Portugal | 750ml

A handful of traditional Portuguese varieties make up the divine fruit that develops through into this well-priced, highly drinkable and very approachable red. This wine brims with blackberry and cherry fruit, is knitted together frmly, but carries none of the over-powering oak or tannin that douro wines once wore as their badge. The wine is perfect to drink with many different types of meals as it has a good equilibrium in tannins and acidity.

2007 Quinta De La Rosa - Passagem Reserva $27.95 $22.95

Wine & Spirits 95 points: Passagem 2007 wine is a full bodied, seductive wine with great balance and freshness often hard to achieve in wines from the hotter Douro Superior. Like all of Jorge's Wines, it has good equilibrium and definition. Very aromatic with black fruit flavours, rounded tannins and good complexity, the wine lingers on the palate. Undoubtedly the best wine we have made from this new project, it is showing very well now and has a good potential for ageing.
