The grapes used to craft this classic Bordeaux-style Merlot originate from the renowned region of Pomerol, France and grow on the clay soil of the Sierra foothills of California. The result is a medium-bodied wine offering both black and red fruits, alongside of vanilla and spicy cedar. It will pair seamlessly with richer meats like lamb and beef.

Yountville AVA. Fermented on French Oak and aged Sur Lies for 6 months. This Napa Chardonnay has a light golden straw color and ripe aromas of fresh lemon custard and sweet tangerine aromas with a hint of Tahitian vanilla and a touch of clove spice. The final finish on the wine is generous with fruit and perfectly balanced with its acidity and understated oak making it an excellent aperitif and food friendly white. The floral components are subtle but transcendent, taking you some place tropical.

80% Sonoma Coast, 20% Russian River Valley. Aged 12 months in French Oak. This deep raspberry colored Pinot Noir stems from some of the best Pinot Noir vineyards in California found in the Sonoma Coast AVA. The wine's aromas are reminiscent of a fine Gevrey Chambertin in that it contains bright cherry fruit but is balanced over an earthy, leathery texture. Similarly, the palate unfolds with exotic spice flavors of tea leaf, clove and star anise and then folds daftly into rich and generous French oak lactone flavors and textures while maintaining its age-worthy acidity within.

The wine has flavors of bing cherry and black fruits with a delicacy and finesse that is appealing and reminiscent of the structure and elegance of a great Bordeaux. Fruit blended from Sonoma County and the Central Coast. The 2011 vintage shows blueberry jam, strawberry tart, boysenberry, a hint of teriyaki, vanilla and cinnamon. the blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 4% Zinfandel.

Final 2000 blend was completed May 2002. Rigorous selection was maintained. Approximately 25% of total production was kept out of the final blend to ensure the highest quality possible. 550 cases bottled after aging in French oak (75% new) for 22 months. The blend is very similar to our 1999 with the majority of the wine chosen, produced from Sacrashe Vineyard grapes. Release Date - February 2003
