Red | Pinot Noir | United States | California | 750ml

As the temperature rises in California’s central coast  during the hottest hours of the day, the vineyards at 24 Knots are blessed with cool marine winds which sweep through at an unbelievable 30 miles per hour, which, in nautical terms, is equivalent to a speed of 24 knots, hence the name… This very structured and balanced wine offers aromas of strawberry and black cherry, accompanied by hint of toast. It has a vivid acidity and a long silky finish.

2010 Annabella - Pinot Noir
2010 Annabella - Pinot Noir $21.99

Red | Pinot Noir | United States | Sonoma Coast | 750ml

80% Sonoma Coast, 20% Russian River Valley. Aged 12 months in French Oak. This deep raspberry colored Pinot Noir stems from some of the best Pinot Noir vineyards in California found in the Sonoma Coast AVA. The wine's aromas are reminiscent of a fine Gevrey Chambertin in that it contains bright cherry fruit but is balanced over an earthy, leathery texture. Similarly, the palate unfolds with exotic spice flavors of tea leaf, clove and star anise and then folds daftly into rich and generous French oak lactone flavors and textures while maintaining its age-worthy acidity within.

2008 Armand Rousseau - Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
2008 Armand Rousseau - Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru $283.99

Red | Pinot Noir | France | Burgundy | 750ml

An ultra fresh and very pinot nose is nuanced by hints of Gevrey-style earth and a hint of forest floor that also is reflected by the cool, detailed and pliant middle weight flavors that possess good depth but also a mildly edgy finish where it’s not entirely clear that it will round out.

2009 Armand Rousseau - Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
2009 Armand Rousseau - Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru $299.97 $249.97

Red | Pinot Noir | France | Burgundy | 750ml

 BH  89-92

The 2009 Charmes-Chambertin emerges from the glass with lovely radiance and openness in its ripe, juicy fruit. The Charmes is already rather forward, and at this stage appears to be a relatively early-maturing wine. The oak is also a bit pronounced. Sweet, textured floral notes wrap around the long, polished finish. Rousseau’s Charmes is technically 60% Mazoyeres. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2029.

2009 Armand Rousseau - Gevrey Chambertin AC
2009 Armand Rousseau - Gevrey Chambertin AC $199.97 $129.97

Red | Pinot Noir | France | Burgundy | 750ml

The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin is pure silk on the palate. Layers of flavor emerge gracefully from this weightless, totally refined wine. A model of understated elegance, the Gevrey makes a great introduction to the wines of Eric Rousseau.

2007 Armand Rousseau - Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St.-Jacques 1er Cru $539.99 $399.95

Red | Pinot Noir | France | Burgundy | 750ml

93

Smooth, with concentration that makes this almost chewy framing the cherry, licorice and sandalwood notes. There's also a latent mineral tone. Though well-proportioned and harmonious, this needs a year or so to really sing. Best from 2012 through 2028. 50 cases imported.

2009 Armand Rousseau - Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St.-Jacques 1er Cru
2009 Armand Rousseau - Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St.-Jacques 1er Cru $299.97 $199.97

Red | Pinot Noir | France | Burgundy | 750ml

An ultra fresh and exceptionally elegant and airy nose features cool red berry and stone aromas that lead to equally mineral-inflected and beautifully well-detailed flavors that possess outstanding intensity and excellent persistence. I very much like the balance and this is a classic Lavaut.

2008 Armand Rousseau - Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru
2008 Armand Rousseau - Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru $215.99 $159.95

Red | Pinot Noir | France | Burgundy | 750ml

Brightly redolent of fresh red currant and blackberry, accompanied by Lapsang tea, fennel, and maritime suggestions of brine and alkali, Rousseau’s 2008 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers displays incipient creaminess, but at the same time, tartness on the palate, with an invigorating sense of fruit skin and fine-grained tannins that lead to a finish of impressive grip. Like the corresponding Lavaux St.-Jacques, this is refreshing but short on richness, and the superior smell in the empty glass confirms the degree to which it is presently a bit reduced. And here too, I can envision 8-10 years of interesting evolution.

2009 Armand Rousseau - Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru
2009 Armand Rousseau - Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru $539.99 $399.97

Red | Pinot Noir | France | Burgundy | 750ml

 BH  90-93
The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers presents an attractive core of dark fruit, considerable aromatic complexity and plenty of structure to back things up. Fresh, vibrant notes are woven throughout, adding to an impression of reserved, tense coolness. The Cazetiers is one of the more inward wines at Rousseau in 2009.

2011 Belle Glos - Clark & Telephone Vineyard Pinot Noir
2011 Belle Glos - Clark & Telephone Vineyard Pinot Noir $59.99 $39.95

Red | Pinot Noir | United States | Santa Maria Valley | 750ml

The 2011 Clark & Telephone is a Cab's lovers Pinot if ever there was one. Established in 1972, the Clark & Telephone Vineyard was planted "own root" to the Martini clone. This heirloom clone of Pinot Noir was one of the first to grace the California coastlands and has become something of a lost treasure. The site offers pronounced flavors that are augmented by the Martini clone, known for its characteristic brown spice (cinnamon, nutmeg and clove) and deep cranberry and raspberry flavors. Throughout the experience a plush weight fills the mouth. The merging of flavors, viscosity and a lively acidity round out the long, sinuous finish.

2006 Belle Pente - Pinot Noir Estate Reserve
2006 Belle Pente - Pinot Noir Estate Reserve $60.99 $44.95

Red | Pinot Noir | United States | Oregon | 750ml

Winery Notes: It was 10 years ago that we released our first Estate Reserve Pinot Noir. This bottling has always represented the "best of the best" from our Belle Pente estate vineyard, and over the years has also evolved into our purest expression of the best attributes of our Yamhill-Carlton District appellation. The wines from our neighborhood are characterized by dark fruit flavors and aromas, herbal/floral overtones, underlying minerality, an intriguing texture, and an impeccable balance of acid and tannin that makes the wines silky and sappy but also fresh and focused. Our Estate Reserve Pinot Noir provides a textbook example! 2006 has been described as a very "user friendly" vintage for Pinot Noir in Oregon. This Estate Reserve was selected for the International Pinot Noir Celebration this summer - so it can certainly be enjoyed now. But it is destined to provide the most pleasure when pulled from the cellar a half dozen (or more) years down the road. This 2006 version once again is sourced primarily from 2 sections of the vineyard: the original 1994 planting, always the most complex wine in the cellar, and the Wadensvil block planted in 1998 on a steep south-west hillside, the warmest part of the vineyard which always achieves the most even ripening. We then selected the 18 individual barrels that best showcased our appellation attributes and provide the "right stuff" for aging. The result is a tightly wound, rich, concentrated, structured young wine - perhaps our strongest Estate Reserve bottling to date. Make sure to find some room in your cellar! 450 cases produced

2007 Belle Pente - Pinot Noir Murto Vineyard
2007 Belle Pente - Pinot Noir Murto Vineyard $39.99 $29.95

Red | Pinot Noir | United States | Oregon | 750ml

Winery Notes: For many of our longtime customers, Belle Pente and Murto are almost synonymous. We've bottled wine from Mike and Robin Murto's terrific Dundee Hills vineyard since our first vintage in 1996, and it's been a mainstay of our portfolio ever since. Like the mailman, Murto always delivers, and it did not shy from the task in 2007. Complex spicy, earthy, brambly aromas lead to a fresh, focused palate dripping with medium-ripe red fruit flavors over silky, polished tannins. An absolutely classic Dundee Hills Pinot Noir! Although this wine has a youthful exuberance that makes it pretty attractive now, it should become even more interesting with a few years in the cellar. 645 cases produced
