Rickshaw

The 2012 Rickshaw Pinot Noir is the fourth vintage from the team at Banshee Wines. In the producing of the Banshee label, the winemakers gained a stable of quality sources for Pinot fruit from the finest AVAs in California.

Rickshaw Pinot Noir is comprised primarily of two upper echelon appellations: Sonoma Coast and Anderson Valley. These two appellations account for seven of the eleven vineyard sources in this utterly tasty blend. All told, the wine saw about 20% new French Oak and twelve months of aging.

The resulting wine is absolutely true to Pinot Noir’s traditional flavor profile - extremely well balanced and above all, delicious. The nose offers up sweet cherry notes, rose petals and a touch of forest floor. The wine is suave and pleasantly juicy on the palate with notes of plum, dark cherry and pomegranate.

The 2012 vintage was one of those easy ones that don’t come along that often. Great fruit set was followed by a long and warm, but not too hot summer. September was glorious all up and down the California coast. We were able to harvest at our leisure with almost no pressure from inclement weather.

This is one of the best California Pinot Noirs for the money. A true gem!
