Don't wait to buy your case of one of the best Syrah's in the USA! The newest release of the 2018 Tensley Syrah Colson Canyon is arriving this Wednesday, March 11. We will have a bottle open then to sample but do not anticipate there will be much left to sell after that! The 2017 vintage was recognized by Wine Spectator as one of the Top 100 Wines of 2019 (95 Points) and now the 2018 is receiving almost the same praise from wine critcs, scoring as high as 98 points from,Jeb Dunnuck. After tasting the 2017, I can say that this wine is a doozy, a stunning example of a complex and full-bodied Syrah. The wine is aromatically intense with lots of black fruit, blue fruit and pepper. I highly recommend a long decant on this one as it will bring out many of the secondary and tertiary characters of the wine including sage, lavender, menthol, pepper, and judicious use of oak. Thankfully, for the 2018 vintage, the cooler condtions and the longer growing season concentrated the Syrah perfectly and gave it the acidic backbone it needs to really deliver a complex and memorable palate. This wine is considered by the winemaking team to be one of the best vintages of this Syrah, and only time will tell how it compares to the 2017.
