Randy Dunn's Feather has an intriguing floral component, and the aromas are complex and intense, though the wine is wound up tight. Let it breathe and it delivers elegant, focused flavors, precisely defined berry and cassis fruit, with a long and harmonious finish.Crafted by Napa veteran Randy Dunn, the Long Shadows 2009 Feather – pure-Cabernet Sauvignon relying heavily fruit from The Benches and Sagemoor’s Weinbau – offers scents and palate-staining impressions of dark berries, spice cake, and tobacco. Thanks to bitter-edged herbal and damp earth elements it is, metaphorically speaking, cooler not to mention less confectionary than most of its stablemates. Wine Advocate 92 Points

"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is all minerals, graphite and pure Howell Mountain. Layers of dark red fruit come to life in this articulate, pedigreed Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2009 needs another few years in the bottle, but it is already quite striking, especially with some time in the glass. Saline notes frame the long finish. The 2009 is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, 5% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% St. Macaire and 2% Cabernet Franc. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. This is a thrilling set of wines from the gregarious Betty O’Shaughnessy and her winemaker Sean Capiaux. The Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon includes a host of other varieties, while the Mount Veeder bottling is 100% Cabernet. Both wines spend 20 months in French oak barrels and are bottled without fining or filtration." Wine Advocate 94+ Points
A ripe, succulent style, with a lively structure putting its macerated black cherry, iron and earth flavors in relief. The firm, dense tannins feel like Pommard. Fine length. Wine Spectator 90 Points

Red | Cabernet Sauvignon | United States | Alexander Valley | 750ml
This wine is classic Alexander Valley Cabernet very elegant and reserved. This wine drinks beautifully now and will for the next 5-10 years. This wine has a nose of currants, violets and tobacco. Black cherry fruit, cedar, vanilla with touches of pepper and spice, and notes of espresso and chocolate on the palate. Rich but balanced with great acidity and structure.
Red | Merlot | United States | California | 750ml
The 2009 Merlot growing season was marked by a warm end of summer which brought the fruit to a near-perfect level of ripeness by mid September. Cloverdale Ranch Merlot displays a broad range of characters from the ripe red fruit on the nose to the rich cocoa notes in the finish. There is a firm, tannic backbone that is tempered with a lush velvety textured mouthfeel. This is a wine with incredible diversity for food pairing but can certainly be enjoyed on it's own.

78% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon.Powerful is a way to describe the 2009 PlumpJack Merlot. Primary aromas of baked plums, cardamom, mulling spices and blackberry are followed by aromas of chocolate, vanilla beans and coffee. On the palate flavors of berry cobbler, plums and cocoa are followed by flavors of herbes de Provence, cedar and cigar smoke. The 2009 shows more firmness than the 2008 and will be at its best with two hours of decanting. We like to describe this wine as the “vin de garde” of the last three vintages of Merlot.
