"Opaque violet color. An intensely perfumed bouquet displays dark berry preserves, cherry-cola, vanilla and woodsmoke. Lush, palate-coating blackberry and boysenberry flavors are complicated by notes of licorice and candied violet. Shows very good intensity on the gently tannic finish, which clings with noteworthy tenacity."International Wine Cellar 92 Points

"Mondavi’s 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is sumptuous and beautiful. Plums, mocha, cloves and pencil shavings are all woven together in this gorgeous, large-scaled Cabernet Sauvignon. All the elements are in the right place. Silky, nuanced tannins frame the voluptuous, caressing finish. A wine of centeredness and gorgeous precision, the 2009 is a true standout. The tannins need a few years to soften, but once that starts to happen, the 2009 should enjoy a long life. The blend is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2029. Antonio Galloni/ Vinous 94 Points"Saturated red-ruby. Currant, graphite, wild herbs, cedar and sexy oak on the nose, lifted by a floral topnote. A broad and very elegant midweight (I would not have guessed that it was carrying 15.2% alcohol), with lively cassis and floral flavors burnished by mellow oak tones. Lovely fine-grained, long cabernet with excellent lift. Winemaker Janssens notes that Mondavi will have replanted half of their To Kalon vines over the 2005-2015 period, but they have kept their oldest sauvignon blanc vines, which date back to the 1940s."International Wine Cellar 94 Points "Intense essence of summer and autumn fruit on the nose with black cherry in there as well. Great acidity and lovely round tannins. Wonderful, silky mouthfeel, with sweet, supple, ripe fruit that’s not cloying or overdone. Top shelf." Decanter 93 Points"Pure, rich and layered, with tiers of blackberry, wild berry, black licorice and mocha flavors. Impressive for its suppleness, yet this has a firm backbone as well, flexing its tannins on the finish. Best from 2013 through 2023." Wine Spectator 92 Points

Only 269 Cases ProducedThe 2009 Pinot Noir Block 7 is made from Wadenswil clone. It displays greater spiciness in its expressive nose, plenty of fruit on the palate, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. It can be approached now but will last for another 8-10 years. Wine Advocate 92 Points
As always, Shea has selected the best barrels in the cellar to create Homer. This Homer is a blend of 56% Wädenswil and 44% Dijon 777. Dark, opulent and ripe, this wine offers aromas of spice that hint at the velvety blackberry, plum and black cherry flavors that explode on the pallet. It all ends in a long, long finish.
2009 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a complex wine with berry and floral aromatics and a lovely structure. It has a dark, ruby color and a vibrant nose of black cherry, wisteria and sweet baking spices. On the palate, the wine is elegant and expressive and echoes the berry, floral and spice notes from the nose. It has a classic structure of fine grained tannins and a long, layered finish. Given proper cellaring, this wine should give drinking pleasure through 2032.
Deep ruby, with red highlights. The nose is reminiscent of concentrated black cherry, plum, and blueberry. The aromas are complimented by spiced cedar, clove and vanilla. The palate expresses Blackberry and cherry flavors and are accented with cocoa and spice, giving layers and depth to the wine. Concentrated on the palate with ripe tannins that give full and lasting intensity.

Bright medium ruby. Scented, high-pitched, very pure nose offers blackberry, exotic spices, flinty minerality and a whiff of meat. Densely packed and seamless but also sharply delineated, with a saline, smoky minerality and a bit of oak influence partly hiding the wine's inherent sweetness of fruit. Dry, meaty, classic syrah with a wonderfully chewy, palate-saturating finish. Showed increasing pliancy and nuance as it opened in the glass.

"Intensely fruity and dripping with luscious dark cherry, blackberry and blueberry flavors, leading to touches of sandalwood. Medium-grained tannins carry through to the lush, spice and chocolate-filled finish. This shows fine grip and balance, with a very modern feel." Wine Spectator (94 Points)

The Deux Terres is made up of 50% 2009 Lea Turner Vineyard Pinot Noir (92 points, Wine Spectator Insider) and 50% 2009 Domaine Roger Belland Santenay-Commes Premier Cru. Both vineyards are in excellent growing regions for Pinot Noir. The Turner Vineyard sits in the ideally ocean-influenced hills of California's Sta. Rita Hills appellation while the 35-year-old vines of the renowned Santenay-Commes Vineyard grow on a steep slope in a very warm and favorable microclimate. What surprises many who taste this blend is the strong to slightly dominant presence of the Burgundy. From the first hints of red fruits and earth on the nose to the silky texture and notes of minerality in the mouth Santenay-Commes makes its presence known . The Lea Turner balances out the blend with floral aromatics, bright notes of wild cherries and berries, and a velvety texture that gives the wine a round mouthfeel and a long, lush finish.

"The 2009 Caburnio (65-25-10 Cabernet Sauvignon, Alicante Bouschet and Merlot) is a full and generous wine with layers of red cherry, light spice and leather that are delivered in quick succession. Sharp freshness cuts to the back of the palate and gives this wine an incredibly vibrant feel. The menthol reinforces those sensations and peppermint-like tones also present here. At this price, this is an unbelievable steal. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2022." Wine Advocate 91 Points
"The 2009 Guidalberto flows across the palate with layers of radiant red fruit. This is another striking, supple Guidalberto loaded with personality. Stylistically it is quite close to the 2007, but with perhaps a touch less body but equally silky, polished tannins. Freshly cut roses, spices and a burst of pure red berries add nuance on the finish. Guidalberto is no longer the stunning value it once was, but it is quite gorgeous in this vintage just the same. This is easily one of the best vintages I can recall tasting." Wine Advocate (92+ Points)
