A dense and rich wine with blueberry, red brick and tile aromas that follow through to full body, tight and chewy tannins and a fresh finish. Needs a year or two to come together.
Containing a 4% splash of Petit Verdot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Family Reserve has a cassis, pencil shavings, spice box and earth-scented nose. In the mouth, it's pretty oaky, firm, chewy and a little drying. It offers decent expression with a mainly earthy character and a very big, full and warm finish.
