In the glass, this wine appears inky-black with a velvety core. On the nose, however, you are treated to the lightness of fresh violets, crushed blueberries, and cocoa. Complexity is confirmed on the palate with a combination of ripe blueberries and blackberries dusted with hints of cedar, tobacco, spice, and ash. Bright acidity, firm tannins, and moderate alcohol create a balanced structure with a long and seamless finish hinting of toasted vanilla and hazelnuts. Made from the best vines on DAOU Mountain, this wine beautifully showcases the characteristics of Cabernet Sauvignon as a varietal.

The 2016 Soul Of A Lion is a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot aged 22 months in 100% new French oak. The nose offers pure, expressive, incredibly layered scents of espresso, cast iron, vanilla bean, cedar, cigar ash, black cherry jam, blackberry pie, fern, underbrush, exotic flowers and peppered meats. Medium to full-bodied, it bursts with flavor layers framed by wonderfully ripe, pixelated tannins and seamless freshness, finishing incredibly long and packed to the gills with flavor. This is heavenly.

Deep, lurid violet. Ripe, spice-tinged cherry, blackcurrant, vanilla and a hint of pipe tobacco on the highly perfumed nose. Offers an array of fleshy dark fruit liqueur, floral and spice flavors that are supported by a spine of zesty acidity and becomes deeper with aeration. Conveys a compelling blend of depth, power and energy, finishing sweet and persistent, with building tannins and lingering dark berry and vanilla notes. (aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 22 months)

Aromas of coffee bean, charred meat, blackberry and toast show on the nose of this blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. There is compelling density to the palate, which offers flavors of espresso, cocoa, charred toast and blackberry.
