"Attitude" has a beautiful freshness in mouth, a frank attack, delicate green and lemon flavors, citrus fruits, green apple and kiwi aromas. The minerality gives a long finish to the wine, a smoothness and elegance - characteristics of all of Pascal Jolivet's wines.

Picked predominantly over 10 days from October 14, the 2010 d'Yquem has 141gms/L residual sugar and pH 3.80. It is a slow-burner, the nose understated at first but unfurling with each passing moment with subtle scents of freshly sliced apricots, Clementine, clear honey and white flowers. There is an underlying minerality that really defines this bouquet. The palate is similar to the nose, revealing hidden facets with almost each swirl of the glass – orange blossom, limestone, white peach and honeysuckle. This is such a precise d'Yquem; it is after you have swallowed the wine that one comprehends just how brilliant it is.

James Suckling 95-96 Points: I love the botrytis spice character to this wine with dried apricots and tropical fruits. It's full bodied, medium sweet with a long intense finish. It's very layered. Wine of the vintage.

Sauternes are rich, honeyed wines bursting with notes of vanilla, coconut, dried apricots and subtle spice tones. They are usually very sweet and rich with a soft quality to them that makes them appealing in their youth yet they can age and improve for decades.

Touraine, a Loire Valley appellation, designates a large viticultural area around the city of Tours. The vineyards of Clos Roche Blanche were planted on the Touraine hills bordering the Cher river by the Roussel family at the end of the 19th century and have remained in the family since. Catherine Roussel took over this 28-hectare estate in 1975 from her father, and was later joined by Didier Barrouillet, who tends the vineyards and makes the wine. Both are enthusiastic proponents of non-interventionist winemaking. Organically farmed vines that translates a vivid sense of place to these wines, bypassing Sauvignon Blanc’s upfront, easygoing nature for something sterner, more tactile, and ultimately, more rewarding. A backbone of flinty minerality, sweet citrus and white flowers rise up, making for a Sauvignon Blanc the fragraqnces of citrusfruit, lemon, grapefruit, and tangerine.
