OVC – our multi-appellation blend – pulls fruit from every one of the top five Zinfandel appellations in California. By themselves, they’re news worthy. Together, well, we’re gonna stick with the tried and true: unbeatable. On the nose the wine has layers of berry fruit and anise aromas with hints of spice. On the palate, blackberry and spicy plum fruit with a rich mouth feel. Big and opulent on the mid palate with plenty of structure, trailing to a velvety toasted oak finish.
Deep crimson-garnet in color with bluish highlights on the rim. Fresh blueberry and elegant spice aromas of clove and mace are matched with flavors of blackberry, and dried cherry. Bright acidity and supple tannins that are followed by a long, silky finish.

Not a poser Zin, but a real one. Big, bold, unapologetic. This 2011 rendition leads the charge with tantalizing aromas of black cherry, raspberries, and blueberries along with hints of oak. It then gets really serious with a cascade of fruit flavors, oh-so-flexible tannins, and a long, fruit-forward finish youare not going to forget very easily.
93% Zinfandel, 7% Petite Sirah. Bright garnet, with a nose of bramble berries, vanilla, and cinnamon. On the palate, opulent raspberry, blackberry, and tart cherry flavors develop, opening up as the wine breathes. Medium to full-bodied, with firm tannins, a dry finish, and a lingering aftertaste.
"Opaque violet color. An intensely perfumed bouquet displays dark berry preserves, cherry-cola, vanilla and woodsmoke. Lush, palate-coating blackberry and boysenberry flavors are complicated by notes of licorice and candied violet. Shows very good intensity on the gently tannic finish, which clings with noteworthy tenacity."International Wine Cellar 92 Points
Edoardo Seghesio planted this vineyard in 1895 on the western benchlands of the Alexander Valley, those original vines accounting for about one-third of this zin. The cool 2010 season created this complex blend with petite sirah (9 percent), a wine that develops floral scents over layers of tar, black currant and crushed black pepper. Saturated with flavor, this is ready to decant now; if you cellar it, wait ten years or more for the secondary flavors to develop.Wine & Spirits 93 Points
