Showstopper 96-Point Cotes-Du-Rhone Red

2018 Bonpas "Croix de Bonpas" Cotes-du-Rhone Villages, 96 Points- Decanter Wine Magazine

65% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 5% Carignan

This is quite possibly one of the best wines I have been able to offer you over the years. Ditch the shopping cart- you are going to want to load up your vehicle with cases of this one! Bonpas is considered one of the most historic wineries in France, with a tradition of winemaking going back over 700 years. The winery is now owned by the Boisset Family, renowned for their trailblazing and innovative fine winemaking that is grounded in organic and biodynamic viticulture. When I tasted the 2017 of this wine last year in its youth, I could feel an immense satisfaction from the panel of sommeliers and wine buyers, like myself, as we smiled from ear to ear over the great potential of this wine for future drinking and maturation. The Cotes-du-Rhone Villages rouge is a wine of exceptional energy- a lot of wine for the money as we always like to say- that contains all the elements you want from an exceptional Rhone red at possibly three or four times the price point of this. Displaying a beautifully deep ruby color, the wine tosses class at every turn, with fragrant bramble, dark kirsch, sweet spice, licorice, and excellent acidity. The finish is long, palate-coating, and harmonious- all the elements of acid, sugar, alcohol, and tannin are all in balance with this full-bodied red. This wine shows enormous potential to drink well over the next five years. Bottle Price: $15.99, 10% off on 6-Bottles, and 15% off on 12+ bottles. BUY NOW- in stock!

THE BEST OF FRANCE PRE-ARRIVAL FROM BOISSET FAMILY PORTFOLIO

The wine I have featured above is just one of many exceptional wines from France through the Boisset Family Collection. Please have a look at our exciting line-up of wines arriving later this month until the end of June, 2020. Among our favorites arriving are, of course, the Bonpas Cotes-du-Rhone Villages, as well as:

2014 Jean-Claude Boisset, St.Veran "La Cote-Rotie" - This stunning white Burgundy is one of the best-value representations of the classic and exceptional 2014 vintage. It is in a near perfect drinking window right now and can only get better with a few more years in the bottle. Price: $29.99

2016 Mommessin Moulin-a-Vent and 2017 St. Amour- Frankly, you can never go wrong with these wines. Mommessin is widely considered to be one of the textbook producers of Cru Beaujolais. In fact, hundreds of Gamays from all over the world competed on January 11th, 2020 in the Concours International du Gamay (International Gamay Competition) in Lyon. More than 800 samples were tasted in this 10th edition of the competition among wines from different countries such as France, Switzerland, Great Britain and Italy and also different vintages. After a first selection, only 25 wines were selected and judged by the 5-members Super Jury who awarded (Mommessin's) Saint-Amour Les Grandes Mises 2018 the title of World's Best Gamay. Arnaud Chambost, sommelier, meilleur ouvrier de France 2000 & member of the competition's super jury decribed our wine as having "a shinning garnet/purple colour, a franck nose, with aromas of red fruits gelly and violet, with a very full and fleshy palate." While we do have an order coming hopefully by the end of the year of the 2018 St. Amour, the 2017 is no less stunning and is drinking perfectly at this stage. Price: $22.99, Stay tuned and let us know if you would like the 2018 reserved!

These and many more are available, all the way up to the Grand Cru wines from Domaine de la Vougeraie, one of the smallest Domaines in Burgundy that practices biodynamic viticulture. Please click the link here to see the order sheet. Please place your orders with Brian, brian@pearsonswine.com. Most of the wines will already be in stock today or will arrive by the middle of June. Quantities of certain wines are limited and expected to sell out quickly.
