Rich and smooth. Beautiful floral aromas, with supple, plummy fruit flavors that fill the mouth. With well-integrated tannins and impressive smoothness on the finish, this red blend is meticulously crafted using fruit from low-yield Napa vineyards.

A firm, fresh red, with a smoky baseline and balanced flavors of black cherry, damson plum, violet, polished oak and spice. This is structured by bright acidity and chewy tannins that come to the fore on the finish.

The 2007 Valadorna has a beautiful espresso note and cherry cola nose, accented by tobacco leaf, rose petal and mocha. Asian spices and black tea flavors combine upon a driven core of minerality and freshness. The texture is a supple and elegant, an old world wine in the best sense. All components are in balance and come together to produce a stunning example of Merlot, reflecting the best of its complex Tuscan terroir. Blend: 64% Merlot, 31% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2007 El Pison is medium purple in color with a superb, already complex nose of smoke, liquid mineral, crushed stone, lavender, balsamic, and black cherry. This leads to a beautifully proportioned, elegant, satin-textured wine with plush fruit, plenty of structure, and a lengthy, seamless finish. Senor Lopez de Lacalles description of the 2007 is delicate, pure, and a wine of finesse. Drink this seamless, totally pleasure-bent, intellectually satisfying wine from 2010 to 2025.Robert Parker 98 Points

The 2007 Finca La Emperatriz Reserva comes from 60-year-old bush vines. It has a melted, sensual nose of macerated red cherries, a hint of sloes and eau-de-vie. There is just the right amount of volatility to lend it lift without diminishing the freshness. The palate is rounded and sumptuous in the mouth with cranberry, wild strawberry and red currant mingling with Asian spices and tobacco. The finish is very composed, with impressive weight and length, but does not outstay its welcome. This is a very fine Reserva that should age well over the next decade. Drink now-2022.

Catena Zapata Nicasia Malbec is made from a meticulous vine selection in the best lots of the Catena family’s estate vineyards. These Zapata vines are carefully hand tended and produce extremely low yields. The grapes are micro-fermented in new French oak barriques and the wine is then aged for 18 months in new French oak. This wine is made in very limited quantities.
"The single vineyard Malbecs begin with the 2007 Nicasia Vineyard Malbec. It was barrel-fermented and aged for 18 months in 100% new oak including a racking into a second set of new barrels (the so-called “200% new oak” treatment). A glass-coating opaque purple/black in color, it offers up a splendid nose of toasty new oak, earth notes, exotic spices, black cherry and black raspberry. This is followed by a plush, layered, intensely flavored wine with potential complexity, precision balance, and a seamless finish." Wine Advocate (95 Points)

An outstanding effort, Branaire's 2007 exhibits floral-infused black raspberry, boysenberry, and mulberry notes as well as a decidedly blue fruit character. Attractive, elegant, and medium to full-bodied with beautiful fruit, density, and texture, it should drink well for 10-12 years.Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 90 points

With it's perfumed aromas, this is a wine that has richness and sweetness, with soft velvet power. It has an intense wood element that needs to blend into the rest of the wine, but the sweet black currant and freshness provide a good balance. This is a seductive wine, with a fine solid character. " Wine Enthusiast 95 Points "Fresh mushroom on the nose, with dark fruits and berries. Full-bodied, with soft, velvety tannins and a rich, fruity finish. Balanced and pretty, with lovely length. Best after 2012. 22,000 cases made." Wine Spectator 90 Points "A beautiful wine with 13.4% natural alcohol, this blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc possesses a deep ruby/purple color as well as a sweet perfume of cassis, incense, charcoal, and subtle oak, round, generously endowed flavors, medium to full body, silky tannin, and surprising depth and length. It can be drunk now and over the next 12-15 years." The Wine Advocate 90 Points
The Ducru Beaucaillou 2007 has a rather elegant, understated nose, the type that could get lost in a blind tasting such as this: notes of wild strawberry, raspberry, cedar and a touch of leather, nice definition and finesse. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannins, very poised and almost Burgundian in its purity towards the finish. Beautifully crafted for the vintage.Robert Parker 93 Points
Bright ruby-red. Pure but youthfully inexpressive nose hints at raspberry and tobacco after extended aeration. Sweet, suave and pliant, with a silky texture perked up by minerality and lifted by a spicy component. Really lovely consistent ripeness here, showing neither roasted nor green qualities. Took on a more floral character with air. This superbly elegant wine really saturates the palate and lingers. Tannins are fine and sweet.
Red | France | St. Julien | 750ml
Among the more tannic and backward wines of the vintage, the 2007 is another outstanding effort from this estate. Already somewhat closed, it is a candidate for one of the longest lived wines of the vintage. Beautifully pure black currant and black cherry fruit interwoven with notions of cedar and wood are found in this medium to full-bodied, structured, masculine-styled St.-Julien. The attack reveals sweetness and softness, but then the wine shuts down. It will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring, and should keep for 15 or more.
Composed of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot, the deep purple-colored 2007 Mouton reveals sweet aromas of creme de cassis, subtle oak, and flowers. Medium to full-bodied and elegant with sweet tannin as well as flavors and a texture that build incrementally on the palate, this strong effort should evolve over the next 15 years.Robert Parker 92 Points

This intensely‐colored wine displays aromas of plum jam and blackberry syrup, framed by hints of baker's spices, vanilla, licorice, graphite and toast. In the mouth, the wine has bright and concentrated forward fruit supported by mid–palate volume, a distinctive fine–grained tannin structure and a lengthy cocoa–dominated finish.

"The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino is a model of grace and elegance. This isn't a huge, powerful wine like the 2006, but rather a Brunello that impresses for its total finesse. Sweet floral notes lead to hints of tobacco, wild herbs and spices on the refined finish. Layers of fruit flesh out beautifully in a radiant, expressive wine that captures the essence of the vintage." Wine Advocate (95 Points)

Medium Oak- Fresh peaches, pear, lemon, acidity, minerality, toast, and a rich finish. Ripe tropical fruits, peach and pear flavors mingle well in this rich, toasty wine. To balance, there is citrus freshness, but the ripe flavors dominate.

"Firm, intense and balanced, with dried currant, berry, spice, tobacco, cedar and sage, gaining a dusty mineral and cedary edge. Closed on the finish, with tight tannins." Wine Spectator (90 Points)

Tastes like a Rioja Gran Reserva that costs a lot less. Bodegas Entresierra’s 2007 Algairen is a glass-coating opaque purple color with an enticing aromatic array of pencil lead, wood smoke, spice box, lavender, and black cherry. Voluminous on the palate with layers of spicy black fruits and ample structure, it is likely to evolve for 2-3 years and offer pleasure through 2020. Wine Advocate 90+ Points
